LIF, the Lighting Industry Federation, has announced its new president is Peter Denny, with Mike Collett taking on the vice president’s role. Both are well-known figures in the lighting industry.
The appointments follow hot on the heels of the Federation’s workshop regarding the implications and impact on the lighting industry of EuP (Energy Using Directive), and a new format Annual Report (2007).

A new fluorescent lighting adaptor - the adapT5 adaptor - has recently been introduced to the UK by Light Green, a company in Dorset.
The adaptor will work with any existing T8 and T12 fluorescent light to cut electricity usage without having to change the base unit; with electricity usage being cut by a massive 55% per light bulb, its causing ripples amongst many people in the lighting industry as well as consumers.

Delta Electronics, Inc. has developed an advanced, energy-saving High Brightness 5W/9W/12W LED Lamp, and demonstrated the new lamp at the Light+Building 2008 exhibition in Frankfurt, April 06-11. The LED lamp is 100% compatible with current sockets (E27) and is similar in appearance to compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) of the same wattage.
