50,000th NIC Certificate issued (17/08/2007)
NIC Certification has issued certificates of competence to over 50,000 individual operatives under the National Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS) and celebrated this industry milestone with a presentation to British Gas employee, James Bevan, at the recent opening of British Gas’s new Training Academy in Thatcham.
“This marks a significant success for us and a great achievement for all involved in the company,” says Wayne Terry, Head of NIC Certification. “The Scheme has been a great success and continues to help ensure the safety of not only consumers, but gas installers too.”
As of March 2007, approximately 144,750 individuals have been certificated through the Accredited Certification Scheme. This 50,000th certificate puts NIC certification with around 35% of that total, making it one of the leading Certification Providers serving the industry.
