MK releases Arctic wiring accessories

The first contact with a room is the light switch, so it has to feel right. This sets the tone for the rest of the room experience. The MK Arctic range has been created to ensure that this initial contact with the devices, from touch to sight, is consistent with this ethic.
Aimed at the high-end UK and international market, Arctic is an ultimate choice in stylish devices, designed with the contemporary lifestyle in mind and providing the best for any interior.
Frosted glass surrounds matched with contrasting brushed satin chrome inserts and rockers are elegantly crafted together to put cutting edge detail into any room scheme. The slim 6mm profile and crisp, clean bevelled edges provide a purity of form that is further enhanced by the concealed screw fixing, providing maximum visual impact.
High-end design, however, has not compromised safety. The frosted glass is toughened to BS 6206 so providing impact resistance and all Arctic sockets incorporate 3-pin safety shutters, allowing access to the supply when all 3 pins of a BS plug are in place. Furthermore, the glass plates hide unsightly fixings, providing design conscious customers with a flawless appearance.
At launch, the range comprises socket outlets, plate switches and modular front plates for BS and Euro data applications.
MK conducted extensive research with a wide selection of architects and interior designers throughout the range’s design and development programme. Many commented positively on their sense of experiencing quality when operating the large zinc die-cast brushed satin chrome rocker on the Arctic switch.
Other complimentary remarks related to the crisp, sharp design of the frosted glass plates, which were seen as highly contemporary, and more complementary of today’s modern interiors. The ‘larger than standard’ glass plates were also warmly received, “transforming the light switch into a bold design feature, almost like a painting”.
