Philips Ledino exterior lighting range complements modern interior design

Royal Philips Electronics has announced an extension to the Ledino indoor range launched in 2008: Ledino outdoor, the first exterior lighting range that’s the perfect complement to modern interior design.

The complete Philips Ledino range includes 16 outdoor products and 54 indoor products. A large part of the Ledino indoor range is dimmable, allowing customers to reduce the level of light to create a more cosy setting at the touch of a button. This feature gives a lighting solution superior to the currently available energy saving alternatives.

Philips Ledino provides gentle, natural light thanks to the warm white Luxeon Rebel LEDs. In addition, the puck technology, combining 3 of these LEDs, guarantees a uniform light output. The strength and clarity of light which comes from the range is comparable with a typical 40W halogen light bulb, yet consumes only 7.5W, therefore saving 80% of energy.

Not only is the range energy efficient, but also the minimum lifespan of the light source and electronics is at least 20 years. The energy efficiency and extremely long span make Ledino a precursor of the European directive on EUP (Energy Using Products) to phase out inefficient lighting in the European Union. The directive becomes effective in September 2009.

The Ledino products are the first of an extensive range of LED based products that Philips will introduce for use in and around the home.

Slim and discreet
These slender aluminium lantern posts (16801/87/16) have a curved head that directs a downward pool of light bright enough to illuminate every step of a pathway while also offering controlled scene setting. The posts also have matching wall lights and blend in discreetly with their surroundings while making a subtle statement of style.

Launched on the biennial Light & Building (Frankfurt – Germany 2008), this desk lamp was recognized and rewarded with the award “Lights of the Future 2008”. The Ledino indoor range is available throughout Europe. The Philips Ledino outdoor products are launched in the majority of European countries this year, with the remaining countries to follow next year.
