Cooper Lighting has completely redesigned its Crompton Varsity range of surface fluorescent luminaires, giving this product line a contemporary styling that is not only attractive but also easy to clean.

Featuring a flush-fitting curved diffuser, the new Varsity design virtually eliminates dust traps and is available in a general-purpose version, as well as two other versions aimed at specific applications: Varsity School and Varsity Hospital.

Varsity School retains all the technical and aesthetic features of the standard product, with the added benefit of secure tamper-resistant end caps and controller to help prevent unauthorised removal of the attachment.

Varsity Hospital also shares the same appearance and additionally incorporates a removable gear tray with plug-and-socket connection for rapid installation and maintenance, plus the option of an integral night light.

The Varsity family of luminaires can be specified with single or twin-lamp configurations, using 36W, 58W or 70W T8 lamps or 28W, 35W or 49W T5 lamps. Prismatic controllers are available in either long-life acrylic or flame-retardant polycarbonate for use on defined escape routes.

Equipped with energy-efficient high-frequency control gear as standard, the luminaires incorporate a control-gear cover tray, which enables lamp replacement to be undertaken by general maintenance personnel.

All Varsity models are available as fully integral emergency versions, and these can include self-test functionality if required.
