New generation of HID ECGs

The OSRAM POWERTRONIC® PTi family of ECGs with microprocessor technology provides reliable system operation, economy & safety for OSRAM HCI® or HQI® lamps.

OSRAM can supply the right electronic control gear for any application between 20 W and 150 W, whether for installation in luminaires with the POWERTRONIC® PTi S version or installed separately with cable clamps with the POWERTRONIC® PTi I version. The compact and intelligent POWERTRONIC® PTi from OSRAM is the perfect way to get the latest HCI® or HQI® lamps under control.

The POWERTRONIC® PTi is designed to provide digital control of lamps with ceramic or quartz burners. Through brilliant design, the S-versions 40% smaller and 25% lighter than the time proven OSRAM POWERTRONIC® PTU, but it sacrifices nothing in terms of efficiency or thermal characteristics. On the contrary; the built-in microprocessor guarantees optimum, intelligent lamp control, 40,000 hour service life and offers far greater freedom than its predecessor in terms of luminaire design - permitting new, delicate lighting solutions.

The OSRAM PTi guarantees constant wattage over the entire lamp service life, thereby ensuring a constant luminous flux and colour appearance. Intelligent cut-off logic makes for safe and reliable shutdown - and thus a high degree of system safety in the event of irregularities in lamp operation, such as electrode breakage, discharge in the outer bulb or other ‘end of life’ behaviour.

Because the PTi can operate lamps with ceramic or quartz discharge burners you are not locked into a lamp regime as a switch can be made at any time. It means luminaire manufacturers for example, can supply their products to suit any market.
